When it comes to Internet Marketing one of the most important things that needs to happen is to get your business listed on websites that receive high levels of traffic. Doing this will provide you with the opportunities for your business to be seen by local customers and this in turn will help improve your chances of making those all important sales.

Today there are plenty of local directories to be found online that will allow you to advertise your business in a particular area. These are an excellent resource to use as they allow you to show your business off in a very highly targeted manner. Also local directories tend to be used by people who are having problems finding what it is they are exactly looking for. Therefore if your website has been listed correctly in the right categories then you are going to be in a far stronger position to entice potential customers to your real estate business.

When local customers start to look for products or services in their area, they are going to have it very clear in their mind about what it is they want. These are the kinds of customers you need to be targeting as these are the ones that are generally ready to make a purchase. One of the biggest benefits to be gained from the use of internet marketing is that it provides you with the ability to build up a relationship with someone without the need for you to speak directly with them ever.

By letting consumers find us in different locations across the internet a small business can be sure that they are reaching a much larger audience, all of whom will actually be interested in their product or service they provide.

The internet is an incredibly effective tool when it comes to selling products to potential customers. Never before have businesses been able to communicate so effectively with their potential customers.

The most common way that people will look for a website today is through the use of search engines. There are many different ones but the most popular ones are Google, Yahoo and Bing. So it is important that you target their results more than any other search engines. Below are some facts regarding search engine that you may not know about:

75% of all internet users who go online use search engines regularly.

56% of all internet users will use at least one kind of search engine every day.

40% of all the searches carried out using search engines today are for local businesses and services.

54% of all internet users will use the internet rather than a phone book to find local services

92% of all local searches carried out through search engines today will eventually convert into a sale

Up until recently the whole search engine industry used to be about the use of very short “keywords” that would help people to find the website they were looking for. Before people would simply type in things like “London Estate Agent” to a search engine. They would check out the first few results before making a decision on which ones to visit.

However these days’ consumers have become a great deal savvier when they use search engine to carry out searches online. As result of this the keywords being used to perform such searches have become progressively longer in order to provide them with results that are more relevant. Today for example rather than just typing in “London Estate Agent” that may offer details of some good websites for that keyword, they will tend to be looking for something far more specific.

Instead what happens is that they may well type in something like “London Low Price Apartments”. The reason they do this is because they are fed up with having to search through various websites that won’t provide them with information with regards to low cost housing. So what this means is that they actually use words that will ensure that they don’t have to spend time working their way through websites that are of no use to them at all.

This type of mentality has helped to revitalize the world of small businesses online. Instead of them just searching for a product or service, most people will now look for a niche product or service that is to be found in a particular area. What this in turn means is that the more well known bigger chains aren’t dominating the search engine results and this in turn means that more small businesses with their own websites are beginning to flourish.

When it comes to marketing your local business on the internet it is something that needs a large amount of experience and expertise to carry out. Without it such help then you simply won’t know about the ways that can help your business to appear on Google’s front page when customers local to your business are searching for your product or service. Also you will find that the competition won’t be as fierce as the keywords that you are competing for are more specific. However if you really want to see your local business succeed you must make sure that you are targeting the right kinds of local customers for it.

As more and more people choose to carry out local searches, when it comes to Internet Marketing you will need to target specific keywords as well as specific areas. If you don’t do this then you will find yourself in competition with the bigger companies that happen to be involved in the same industry as you nationally. Unfortunately this is a competition that you will not be able to win.

When you want to build an online presence the first step that you will take is going to be the building of a website to show your business off. You don’t need anything spectacular but rather it should be kept simple so that it provides those viewing it with clear information about the type of products or services that you provide. There is no need for you to fill your website with page after page of information about the industry which your business is part of. People visiting your site simply won’t find this type of stuff interesting.

What is important however is that your website does contain content that not only appeals to your audience but will be able to answer any questions that they may have.

When building a business website for your local business it doesn’t mean you have to break the mould. What it is about is proving to people that you have a business that they can trust and rely on. The best way of doing this isn’t through filling your website with lots of boring copy or facts that relates to the history of your company which others will not enjoy reading.

Go and have a look at some of the more well known companies websites and you will see that they have all recognised that they shouldn’t be too serious when creating a great online online presence as they need to appeal to various different audiences. This has resulted in them choosing to create websites that are far more diverse and which speak with a slightly less formal tone allowing them to build up a far better rapport and level of trust with those who choose to visit it.

Video marketing has become increasingly popular for small businesses to use. Research has been carried out and it clearly shows that people who view videos created by a company are more likely to visit their website or contact them by phone. In fact around 40% of all people who have viewed such will make contact with a business after viewing the video that the company has produced than those that haven’t.

When it comes to creating your own videos to market your local business it doesn’t need to be difficult. Making marketing videos is very easy to accomplish and can prove to be a great deal of fun. The main aim for you to make a video to market your local business is to enable you to create a relationship with any potential customers as well as helping you to spread the word regarding the properties or services that you offer.

When it comes to making a video to market your local business you need to ensure that your customers will find it interesting. If they realize that you are attempting to sell them something they will immediately turn elsewhere for help. So it is important that if you will be taking a starring role in your video marketing campaign that you just be you.

You should also make sure that you keep the videos short. Ones that last for around 3 to 4 minutes work really well. By keeping them short you will then be able to get your point across to your potential customers a lot quicker. If they run for more than 4 minutes then those viewing them will soon become bored and won’t bother to wait until the video has finished running to click on your link when it appears.

The first video you create should be the one that introduces your local business to your customers and also introduces you. However make sure that you include something within this video that will in turn cause them to carry out a certain action. What you need to remember is that the main aim of creating a video to market your business is in order for you to find potential new customers for it. So don’t forget to include information relating to where you are located and how they can make contact with you.

When people first became interested in the internet many saw it as a way to be able to connect with others around the world in order to share data and information, as well as improve communication. However as soon as these things became second nature, many big businesses grabbed onto the idea of the internet and managed to take it to a whole new level.

Soon every major corporation had created its own online presence, and as a result even traditional businesses were forced into using this new form of technology. Every day millions of people can be found surfing the web, and as a result the internet has now become a huge industry. Therefore it would be unimaginable if you did not try and harness this new technology to your advantage for your local business.

People used to think that only large companies could use the internet that had huge marketing budgets. However in 2000, millions was being spent carrying out both online and offline advertising in the hope that it this would drive people to certain websites. It wasn’t actually going to be a particularly viable business model, because the internet had not grown enough and was unable to accommodate such huge amounts of spending. As a result of this, things suddenly fell apart. In fact following the dot com crash, it seemed that even the big businesses were going to find it a struggle online.

But during the last few years, things have changed dramatically. The technology has improved and as a result the internet’s popularity has grown again. Today big businesses are in a far better position than before and this enables them to harness the power of the internet better. Now is the time for a new generation of internet users to flourish that is the small business.

Anyone who uses the internet today will be familiar with search engines and will browse numerous websites on a regular basis. In turn this has resulted in far less emphasis being placed on household names. However should you happen to have a strong online presence then someone is going to be able to find your business much more easily. As more and more people look for local businesses instead of the major chains there clearly is potential for you to be able to dramatically improve your local business prospects.

There are numerous ways in which this can be done. Within further posts on this blog we will take a look at the various marketing strategies that you can use in order to take your business to the next level. There are plenty of people (customers) out there who would like to find your local business, and for most of them the best way to find you is through use of the internet. If you can build a far stronger online presence than your local competitors then you will have won quite a huge battle and will be able to look forward to a more profitable future as your business starts to grow further.

Every day, more and more people are discovering the internet, and some of these may be right next door. The internet isn’t only used by students and the younger generation, but has become a very powerful tool for businesses to find any customer base they can think of.

In years gone by local businesses would have relied on ads placed in newspapers or in the local telephone directory in order to attract customers to their business. But since the introduction of the internet there are many other ways that a local business can market itself so that it reaches a much wider audience.

There are two ways for marketing your local business today that will prove extremely effective. The two ways which local businesses have found to be effective in helping them to promote their businesses to more potential customers are mobile text marketing and video marketing.

It is important that you get as many customers as possible coming to your estate business. However it is even more important that you turn these customers into ones that are loyal and will use your services time and time again. Today there are numerous ways in which you can achieve this and below we take a look at how to create loyal customers for your real estate agency.

Keep The Information Coming

Of course the properties that you sell are wonderful and the service you provide is second to none but by offering them a constant supply of information and help will only make them remain with you more. Just by offering to take time out to listen to them and offering advice where needed without actually trying to make them purchase something can prove extremely invaluable when you are trying to create a loyal customer base for your real estate business. Also don’t be afraid to put them in contact with others if what they want is something that you cannot provide.

Make Your Customers Laugh

When it comes to how to create loyal customers for your real estate agency you need to build up a good relationship with them. What you mustn’t be doing is looking at them as a source of cash for your business. If they feel that you are working on their behalf and you treat them in the correct manner then of course they will be more willing to seek help when the time does come for them to either buy or sell a property.

Following the release of the iPad, iPhone 4 and android phones so the way in which we now use the internet has changed quite a lot. In fact the introduction of these appliances has resulted in us becoming more aware of how important the internet is for a business to be successful. Below we take a look at just some of the benefits that show how the importance of using simple mobile websites for your real estate business are today.

Benefit 1 – Through a simple mobile website you are able to market your business instantly. If you don’t have such a website then you are going to find it much harder to keep up with other estate agents in your area who are your competitors.

Benefit 2 – As the space provided for displaying information is much smaller it is important that you provide more precise information. The great thing about doing this is that those who are looking for what you are offering become a great deal more responsive to you. What you need to remember is that most of people simply don’t have the time to be wading through tons of information to get the answer they need. If you are giving answers that are short and concise then people are more likely to read what has been written and will of course be more likely to click on the link provided to reach your website.

Get local followers, follow locally and join lists

For your local business, the more followers, the better. It’s like building any type of prospect and customer list. But first you will have to find some people to follow.

Gaining followers

You need to first be aware that rushing out and following a heap of people can make you look like a potential Twitter spammer. Build your following base at a steady pace. As time goes on you will be able to add more at a time, but initially I would suggest you stick to 50 for a start.

The reason for this is that when you follow people, they will most likely follow you back. Many people don’t do this automatically, although some do, particularly in the internet marketing space.

Some people will actually go and look at your Twitter home page to decide if you are worth following or not in their eyes. This is where your profile and the settings that you took all the trouble to do will stand you in good stead.

There are some handy applications, and techniques that can assist small businesses in finding local followers. A couple of these applications are referenced to below. For now, let’s focus on hashtags. Hashtags are a short linked words or phrases prefaced by the hash symbol #. If a tweet contains a hashtag that’s already in use such as #cupcakes, #Bury, or #gardening, users searching for this will see all recent twitter posts containing this hashtag.

By clicking on the “Tweets near you” tab on Twitter, local tweets containing the hashtag are brought up. Small business owners can use this to target specific users who share their interests. Tweets containing the hashtag will appear in front of people who are not already following you.

Just don’t overuse hashtags; your message will be watered down if each post contains these types of links. To research current trends of hashtags visit hastags.org and search for a word or phrase.

Follow with a purpose. Find local Twitter users who share an interest with you, they are the most likely customer, and are also more likely to follow you back.

The Twitter Lists feature allows you to group together, follow, and find Twitter users. You can use lists to organize your tweets into groups based on anything you want: location, subject, company or interest. This is an easy way to find people you are not already following and for them to find your business.

Picture tab

This is really important. When you open this page you will see the small avatar on the screen which is the default for Twitter. If you want new followers, putting a company logo or photo of business is imperative.

But just put something so you can be identified in the Tweetstream by your followers. The graphic is often more important than your name when people are scanning Tweets and you will stand out for yours.

Design tab

Here you can change the background of your Twitter page from the default. Twitter provides a number of alternatives that you can select or you can upload your own background. You can also change all the colors if you wish.

Again, whatever you do, just change it so you are not running the default. It shows you have taken some time setting up your account.

This one component of your presence on Twitter that is worth doing well.

Setting up your business on Twitter can be easy, but there are a few things that you should be aware of when organizing your account. This can apply even if you already have an existing account too, so consider these tips and it can improve your entire Twittter experience.

The first thing to do if you don’t have an account is go to http://www.twitter.com which is the home page of Twitter. You will be asked to either login or register. If you don’t have an account, then of course you will need to register. So let’s go through the registration process and explain it all here.

Registration

You will probably want to register your business name, but make sure you use your own name in the sign up process so you are identifiable and connected with the business name you register. The concepts and reasons for operating under each type of registration will be discussed later.

The next screen will ask if you want to add any of your friends from the popular web based email programs. You may want to do this if you have a customer list started or get your account seeded with the friends and family in your contact list.

Your business profile

First things first: Write an engaging profile. The business profile should include location, telephone, email and website address if available. Remember, this is about building relationships with customers, not a corporate information sheet. Keep it simple and easy, but share your personality.

You have 160 characters here to “sell” yourself. Take some time over it and do it well. Don’t simply enter a bunch of keywords as they appear totally uninteresting to people, although they may get you found.

Use keywords by all means, but start your Bio with the words “I help” and then describe the product or services you provide. Now that description is only 143 characters, so you could still get some more keywords in the profile.

What is Twitter?
Well, Twitter has been one of the fastest growing sites on the web today. It is taking the internet by storm and there are around 10,000 new users per day signing up to participate in this internet revolution.

Twitter is best described as a micro blogging platform. You are limited to 140 characters messages each time you send a message to your followers, which initially, may seem a small amount. However, as you become more experienced, it’s just amazing what you can fit into 140 characters.

That said, Twitter is much, much more than that. It is like one huge global chat room, but then again, it doesn’t have to be. It all depends on how many people you follow on Twitter. If it’s in the thousands, then your “Tweetstream” will be running fast and furious with everything that’s coming in. If you are only following a few hundred, or even less, then things are much easier to keep up with.

Twitter is also a great way to meet new people online, particularly those with similar interests to you. Small businesses around the world are making connections on Twitter, because it is the communication platform that lets them stay connected to their customers through those140-character messages.

Twitter has increasingly become the number one online marketing destination for local businesses to build their brand, market their products and services, and create communities for their followers. Having the opportunity to market products or services to customers within a few blocks is a remarkable opportunity, and a great way to receive valuable feedback and build long lasting customer relationships using Twitter as a conversation tool.

Video marketing has become an increasingly popular strategy with small businesses. In research carried out it has shown that people who view a video made by any company are then more likely to visit their website or to make contact with them by phone. In fact people are 40% more likely to make contact with a business after viewing videos that a company has produced than those that don’t.

Actually creating your own video to market your small business need not be a big challenge. In fact making marketing videos can be a lot of fun and very easy to accomplish. The main aim of making a video to market your business is not to create a relationship with any potential customers and also to spread the word with regards to the product or service you offer.

When it comes to making a video to market your business you need to ensure that your customers find it interesting. If they realize that you are attempting to pitch a sale at them they will immediately turn away. So its important to be yourself if you intend to take a starring role in the video marketing campaign.

Also you should make sure that you keep the videos short around 2 to 3 minutes should be sufficient. By keeping them this short you are ensuring that you make your point as quickly as possible. Any longer than this and the viewer will soon get bored and won’t bother to wait until the end of the video.

The first video you make should be the one that introduces your business to them as well as you. But you still need to make sure that you include something within this that results in them having to carry out a particular action. Remember the aim of using video marketing for any small business it to find potential customers so make sure you provide details of where you are located and how they can contact you.

If you need an advise on how to start off with video marketing please give us a call and we will carefully discuss your video marketing requirements.

Since the introduction of the internet all businesses (large and small) now have access to more prospective customers than ever before. No longer are they limited to those who live close to them but have access to customers around the world. Once online they can immediately connect and communicate with potential customers through social networking and interactive sites. Of course they need an online presence. Below you can find few ways of how small business can build an online presence.

Way 1 – Social Networking

Websites such as Twitter and Facebook have provided large and small businesses with a completely unique way to market themselves. After joining such websites you need to build up a comprehensive profile and then start to join in on conversations as well as communicate with both existing and potential new customers. Also don’t forget to build up relationships with other professionals using this method.

Way 2 – Begin A Blog

Make sure that the blog you start on your website is one that is relevant to the service or product or relates to something that you know a great deal about or have a keen interest in. As well as helping to keep your site updated with fresh and unique content which is important part of any successful SEO campaign it will help you to gain a reputation of being a leading authority in your niche. This will in turn serve as a reliable source not only for your customers but other leading professionals.

Way 3 – Product Marketing Video

These have become extremely popular in the last couple of years as they provide all businesses with a way of providing in depth view of their product or service. As well as being able to provide details regarding the products size, color and texture these videos offer you the opportunity to explain fully the benefits of them to all your potential customers. When you use this way of how small businesses can build an online presence the videos you create do not have to be anything fancy, just make them as personable as possible. Then once created simply upload them to sites like YouTube.

If you are not sure which steps to take in order to grow your business online please give us a call and we will carefully discuss your online requirements.

Initially when the internet began many people saw it is a faster means of communicating with other around the world. Plus it also provided them with the opportunity to share information and data much quicker. However today the internet is changing how consumers find local business.

In fact when the internet was developed many thought that only large companies would be able to utilize what it had to offer as they had huge marketing budgets. However this wasn’t certainly going to be a very viable business model initially as the internet in its earlier years simply wasn’t growing fast enough to be able to accommodate the kind of money that big companies could afford to spend.

During the last few years things have changed dramatically with improvements in technology now the internet has become even more popular. We are all using the internet today and have therefore become familiar with browsers and search engines. Due to this any online business does not need to be a household name to be getting customers to your site all that is now required is to have a much stronger online presence.

Certainly as more and more people look for local businesses online instead of the better known larger companies then as long as you have a good online presence there are many opportunities to improve the prospects of your business.

When it comes to building the right sort of online presence in order to help with the way that the internet is changing how consumers find local businesses there are numerous different marketing strategies that you can employ. All of which have been developed to ensure that you are able to take your business to the next level. As you will soon discover there are hundreds or even thousands of people who want to find the product or service that you offer and it is through use of the internet they have discovered this is the best way.

If you are willing to make the effort to improve your online presence because the internet is changing how consumers find local business to use then you are going to claim more of potential customers from your competitors. As a result you will then begin to see your company grow and of course reap the benefits of increased profits. In Bury and Manchester, the area where I meet and connect with local businesses, there have been a lots of changes the way local businesses market themselves. If you need a help in order to grow your business online please give me a call and we can discuss your requirements.

During the last 3 to 5 years the importance of mobile websites for local business has grown quite substantially. Following the introduction of Apple’s iPhone the mobile web has started to become very much like the PC web and this is why businesses both big and small need to be adapt.

Previously when it came to businesses holding video conferences they would be limited to carry them out on a PC or laptop with large screens. But the video capabilities of mobiles such as the iPhone 4 have now made it more than possible to arrange and have meetings on the go.

So why is it that mobile websites have become such an important tool in order for any business to make their presences felt? Below we take a look at some of the reasons why.

Most people are constantly on the move and have become more reliant on using search engines such as Google to carry out numerous tasks including the likes of finding the number of a certain restaurant or to locate the nearest petrol station. As Google can provide answers to such questions as these then of course more and more of us will use them to find what we need and want.

Today mobile phones and have become an important part in many people’s lives. It allows them to remain in contact with others no matter where in the world they are without the need to carry around large cumbersome equipment such as a laptop or notebook. Certainly when waiting for friends it is now quite acceptable for people to browse the web whilst waiting. But of course in restaurants and bars it is frowned upon to actually have a conversation on your phone. So people can still deal with matters of importance without disturbing the peace of others through the sending of emails and instant messages.

When it comes to creating a mobile website for your business there are a number of different ways that this can be carried out. If you are unsure please give me a call and we can discuss your requirements.

Have you been looking at ways that you can actually increase your customer base in the hope that you will then begin to make more sales? There are numerous marketing techniques that you can use but you may find that using email and text messaging to build your customer base will provide you with the best results possible.

Through these forms of marketing you have the opportunity to reach customers quickly and easily. It provides you with a way to invite all customers (old and new) to ask for more information from you. As soon as they do then of course their details can be immediately included into the mailing list that you are creating of those who remain interested in what you are offering after they have been provided with information by you. Plus should any of these people wish to there is the option for them to opt out of what you are offering at any time.

This is one of the most inexpensive ways for you to actually advertise your business and allows you to reward those that remain loyal to you. Plus as you own the information that your customers provide to you they will be grateful that it is being kept safe and private as you aren’t providing it to mailing list suppliers or telemarketers.

When you do send out an email or text message it is important that you offer them something in exchange for them actually bothering to respond. Certainly one of the best things that you can do is offer them a coupon so when they make a purchase from you they get the item at a discounted price. Not only is this a great way of getting rid of any inventory you no longer require but also will help you to track how your text messaging or email campaign is going.

As you will soon discover when it comes to using email and text messaging to build your customer base it can prove a very fruitful venture. Plus they can also prove to be one of the most effective tools that you can employ when marketing your business if you know how to use them correctly.

Many people nowadays are familiar with WordPress, I should say heard about WordPress and most of them know it as a blogging platform.

When talking to local business owners in Bury regarding their web design requirements it is becoming more obvious that more and more people are interested in WordPress as a CMS platform and there is a very good reason for that. Over the last two years WordPress became one of the industry leaders.

I personally love building websites using WordPress and there are few reasons for that. First one and the most important is that search engines love WordPress. If set up correctly and with right plugins installed you can rank your site for few keywords very quickly and get some valuable and targeted traffic to your site. Also it is very easy to update and edit content, add images, videos and even change configuration of the site.

There are lots of free themes out there that you can download and customize the look of your website. Within few hours you can have your new website complete with graphics and content.

How does WordPress compare with other content management systems?

Few years ago I run one of my websites on Joomla, another open source content management system and it took me few weeks to get familiar with basics. WordPress is much more easier to learn so for now I am stuck with WordPress.

If you are considering building your new website using WordPress as CMS give Pronto MultiMedia call and we will be glad to discuss your requirements.

QR Codes

QR Codes are a great mobile tool to use and they deserve some explanation. The QR Code is a barcode that was developed in Japan and is commonly used in much of the world. QR stands for Quick Response.

The difference between a regular barcode and the QR code is that the QR Code stores data which can be read digitally. The QR code is read by scanners in stores or using the camera and a QR code reader (available free) which are installed on your smartphone.
A QR Code can be used to provide a link to a web page, a coupon or details on a new product and can be printed on anything – even t-shirts! The uses for a QR Code are endless.

QR Codes are used extensively outside of the UK and are beginning to catch on here, too. I’m already seeing them in print advertising in magazines, on store windows, in some directories and on other websites. You can add them to any print advertising such as business cards, to videos, and to anything else you can think of. When scanned, it will provide a text message, take someone directly to your website or link to whatever else you decide to send them to.

In Japan, McDonald’s includes QR codes on their product packaging (Happy Meal boxes, sandwich wrappers). Magazines are incorporating QR codes into their print advertising. Can you think of how you might use a QR Code?

You can download your Google Places QR Code from your Google Places Dashboard. The Google Places QR Code links to your Places listing, which provides important information about your business.

Someone who is familiar with QR Codes will appreciate using them. If someone is not familiar with QR Codes, they’ll ask about them when they’re in your store – opening up lines of communication.

QR Codes are a great tool for inviting a consumer to opt-in to your list, in exchange for something of value (coupon, sales events, link to a download).

You’ll be seeing more and more QR Codes and you’ll be using them yourself in your mobile marketing campaigns.

If you are a business owner out there and you were thinking about building a website for your business, the most likely scenario is that you will look online for an agency. Once you find the appropriate agency, you will ask them for a quote explaining what you need and then accept a quote and this agency will build your website. After few weeks your website will be delivered and you will be a happy owner.

Please do not follow this path above!!!

I do not have any problems with big web design agencies as long as they do the job in client’s interest. In the last month I have seen two CMS websites built without considering the correct keywords for the client. Both clients have been told that their website is on the first page of Google for the particular keyword.

After 5 minutes of investigation it turned out that there are no searches whatsoever for that keyword and the number of competing pages is insignificant. Of course you are going to be on the first page of Google. You get the picture….

Before you decide and hand over hundreds or even thousands of pounds of your hard earned cash, please do following and in the order below:

1. Do your keyword research. Find several keywords that people are searching when looking for your product or service, don’t guess them. Find keywords for each individual product or service you offer. If you do not know how to do this then ask agency to do it before they start to build your website. If they tell you that they are design agency and not SEO company, move on. Why? Because they should be both design and SEO agency. Beautiful website that is not optimized correctly is like having a Ferrari without an engine.

2. Once your agency provide you with some keywords ask them to provide you with the number of monthly searches and the number of competing pages. If they can’t do that then ask myself and I’ll tell you how to do it.

3. Think about main categories that will be part of your website. Always think about main keywords and create your categories in relation to these keywords.

4. Ask your agency to show you the example of how url will be structured within CMS. The complete url (folder(s) and the final html page) should be structured around your keywords. No numbers or random characters in urls or words like “page” or something that has nothing to do with your products or services. If you don’t do this before building process starts and once you realise your website pages are built in unsatisfactory way, you will have to pay again for the work that should have been done in the first place.

5. Ask the agency whether they can include RSS feed within your website (There are add-ons out there).

6. You should incorporate a blog within your website. This blog should run on wordpress platform. If your website is built on wordpress then blog will be there included. If your website is not built on wordpress platform the you can install wordpress platform within separate directory. Why is blog so important? This topic is huge so I am not going to answer it here but there are some other posts where I address this topic.

7. Once you clear all this out, write down what you expect at the end of the relationship and present it to the agency.

If you follow and complete all these points your life will be much easier once your website is out there. Then you can concentrate on promoting it and doing off-page SEO.

Pronto MultiMedia builds wordpress and drupal websites for local businesses in Bury, Manchester. We incorporate and follow all these points mentioned above so you don’t need to worry about whether correct keywords are included or whether SEO on your website has been done. Our aim is to build a website for your business that will attract new prospects and convert them into your customers. Our aim is to build a lasting asset to your business that will act as another sales person and constantly bring a new business. By following the instructions above you will never have to answer on this question: What is the point of the website with no visitors? Yours will have plenty.

This is the part 3 of our mobile marketing tools series. In this post we give you even more tools you could use
in your mobile marketing campaign.

Mobile Commerce

It is possible to arrange for an immediate purchase of not only digital downloadable products, but also of retail products using your mobile phone. Your mobile phone can literally be used as a digital wallet using bar code scanners and mobile point of sale systems. You’ll want to consider setting up a mobile commerce program, if you sell any products which can be downloaded or shipped out.

Mobile-Enabled Traditional Media

Mobile marketing can only be done with the express permission of your customer. You can use traditional media to invite them to opt-in to your list. An example of this would be a sign in your store window or near the cash register inviting the customer to text to a number which will respond with a coupon code or scan a QR code which will take them to a web page where they can opt-in.

Some more tools that you should be using in your mobile marketing campaigns:

Mobile Applications

Mobile applications are computer programs that are installed on mobile phones. They are used to provide capabilities, such as looking at a checking account balance or playing a game. Applications can also include your marketing message. They can be a great way to get your message out.

Interactive Voice Response (IVR)

With all the capabilities available on the mobile phones of today, we might forget that their primary purpose is to make and receive voice phone calls. IVR technology allows us to send and receive voice calls from people without having a live person answer the phone at your end.

Mobile Social Media

Social media has been a driving force in the growth of smart phones. It’s very easy for folks to participate in social media conversations throughout the day using their phones. You can take advantage of this trend by incorporating a mobile social media strategy in your marketing.

Mobile Advertising

Mobile phones present a great opportunity to advertise to a broad potential customer base, in addition to your targeted customer base. Google, recognizing the importance of the mobile industry, recently bought AdMob, a mobile advertising platform. You know if Google thinks it’s important, we should also pay attention.

Mobile advertising involves placing ads in mobile applications, on websites, and in text messages, to name a few.

If you think it’s worth considering using mobile marketing the next step would be to get familiar with the mobile marketing tools.

So how do you do it?

First, you need to decide which strategy you’ll be using to get your message out and then you can craft your message to fit the strategy.

There are several mobile marketing strategies/tools you can use to reach your customers on their mobile devices and I’ll list them here. It’s beyond the scope of this report to go into extreme detail for each. For more information and to make right choices please give me a call and we can discuss what exactly you need for your business.

Text Messaging (SMS)

SMS stands for Short Message Service, also known as text messages. Most cell phones are capable of sending and receiving text messages. You’re limited to 140 characters and that is enough to get a short message out, link to a website or send out a coupon.

Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS)

In addition to sending text, you can also send audio, pictures and video in an MMS message. You can get quite creative here with your marketing message and distribute it easily through phones.

Mobile E-Mail

Despite the increase in popularity of text messaging, emails are still a great way to get a message out. You’ll observe people checking their emails all day long, in a variety of locations, because they have their mobile phones with them. This is an affordable and acceptable way to market via mobile.

Mobile Internet Sites

The increase in smartphones which have the ability to surf the web means that your website should be formatted to be mobile friendly. People on the go tend to search for basic information, such as phone numbers, addresses, and hours of operation. They’re trying to make quick decisions and do not usually have the time to read a complicated website when on the go. You need to make sure you have appropriate, easily findable information on your mobile friendly website.

If you are small or medium size business owner you can follow the instructions below and create your first Facebook page.

1. Create your profile and build your page

If you already have a profile, go to www.facebook.com/pages to start creating your page. If you don’t have a profile click the Create a Page link to create your profile and page at the same time.

You will be given the choice of creating a Facebook Page for a local business, brand or public person. Once you select to create a local business page, a drop-down menu will give you the option to define your line of business. Choose from Health and Beauty, Café, Professional Services and many more.

2. Add content

Now that you have registered your page it is time to start adding content about your business. Begin by uploading an image. This should be your logo or an image representative of your business. The image will be displayed as a thumbnail, so make sure the size does not exceed 4MB.

Secondly describe you business for the info tab. Include contact information, hours and website if you have one. Keep it short and informational and try to include some of the keywords of your industry. A tightly keyword focused Fan Page will get you indexed by the search engines quickly.

All Facebook Pages have the tabs: Wall and Info. You can move tabs, remove them, add new ones, and select which tab you want visitors to see when they first visit your page. This is important.

As Facebook is a social medium, visitors expect content to be updated on a regular basis. Take a hint from some of the big brands and use interactivity like encouraging fans to post photos of themselves visiting your business or using your product and reward the best one.

3. Add Social Plugins

If your business has its own website there are many Facebook plugins available to promote your Facebook Page outside the Facebook network. The most useful of the Facebook standard plugins are the Like Box and Like Button. The code is generated with the click of a button and can easily be pasted into the code of your website.

The Like Button allows users share your content with friends on Facebook. When the user clicks the Like Button on your site, a story appears in the user’s friends’ News Feed with a link back to your website.

The Like Box is similar, but contains more information such as a snapshot of fans who like your Facebook Page and recent post from your status updates.

Both of these plugins may only be useful if you have a website which is regularly updated, such as a blog.

4. Invite fans

Your first fan has to come from somewhere, so start by liking your own page and invite your Facebook friends to do the same. You may have an existing list of contacts from your business that you will want to invite. You can upload this list and tell your customers about your fan page. To invite fans outside of Facebook, click the Import Contact button and use your username and password credentials to get contact from web based email clients such as Yahoo!, Gmail and Hotmail. It is also possible to import desktop email client contacts from programs such as Outlook, Entourage and Mac OS X Address Book.

5. Write on the Wall

The Wall is where your status updates are displayed. If you are just getting started marketing your local business through Facebook Pages this is a good choice for default landing page for visitors as the content is easily updated with blurbs, deals, specials and photos.

The posts on the Wall are in chronological order, with the newest displayed at the top and fans can comment on each update which is then displayed on their own profile pages.

6. Promote your Fan Page on your Website

If you have your own website created, you can use the “Promote this Page on Your Website” link to generate the code needed to add the “Like” box to your business website. The box will link them directly to your Facebook Fan Page.

Incoming search terms:

add contact button to facebook business page

contact button for facebook business page

how to add a contact button to facebook fan page

how to add contact button on facebook pages

how to make contact button on facebook business page

I speak to business owners almost on a daily basis and most of them do not have any kind of presense on Facebook. One of the main reasons for that is lack of free time available or lack of knowledge and understanding of how Facebook works and how small and medium size business should be promoted on Facebook. This blog post can help you in creation of your business Facebook entry. Also you can download a free report here.

In order to create a Facebook page, you need to have an account on Facebook. Your Facebook page will be tied to your personal profile as the admin of your Facebook page, but only you and Facebook will know the connection exists. You can have an unlimited number of Facebook pages, with an unlimited number of fans.

Facebook Pages are public—anyone can find and view your page whether they are logged into Facebook or not. All content posted on your Facebook page gets indexed on Google and other search engines.

You can add applications to your page, including your own custom content—video, rich text, graphics, opt-in box and more. You can add additional admins (highly recommended). All admins have equal rights to administer your page, including adding and removing other admins so be careful who you choose.

Questions to Consider:
Before spending several hours a day on designing your small business Facebook Page consider the following and strategize accordingly:

What is your objective? Is it getting more customers in the door? Building awareness around your brand? Or creating a space to communicate and provide customer service? Think about these questions before you begin.

Make sure that the niche or business you choose is active and people are searching for your choice of business. You can search the hot trends in Click Bank, Amazon, and Yahoo. Use the main keyword in the title for your Fan Page and in your profile. Pick your Facebook Page name carefully as this cannot be changed at a later date. Use Google Keyword Tool to find additional keywords to use. The name you choose will be part of your unique URL.

Once you’re clear on the purpose of your Facebook page, the design needs to reflect that. For example, if your purpose is to build your email list, you’ll need to feature at least one opt-in box.

When you plan your mobile marketing campaigns, you will, at some point, be sending consumers to your website. If your website is not mobile friendly, consumers will not have a good experience and will leave your site.
Reasons why businesses need a mobile friendly website include:
•	People use their mobile phones every day to search for information on businesses.

•	Your website loads faster on the mobile phone when it is mobile friendly. People are usually in a hurry and not willing to wait for a website to load. They’d rather click off and find another site that loads faster.

•	Your business information is easily visible to consumers in a mobile friendly website. You can display a “Click to Call” button or a “Click for Directions” button, a menu or simple, pertinent features of your business that are easily visible on a phone.

•	Travelers use their mobile phones to find hotels, restaurants and other businesses when in different cities. You want your information to be readily available to those travelers.

•	When you have two versions of your website, you can offer your information to two different sets of searchers – those on the road who are in a hurry and those who are sitting at home with time to do research.

•	A mobile website gives you another site to market to search engines and directories, increasing your business’ rankings on the web.

By 2014, it is estimated that half of web browsing will be done on mobile devices. It is critical for you to make sure you have a mobile web presence and that your mobile websites are working properly. As a savvy business owner, you want to get the jump on your competitors and not wait till everyone is using mobile marketing.

Your potential customers expect you to have a mobile website:
“When asked whether they expect sites they visit frequently to provide a dedicated mobile version, a resounding 84 percent responded in the affirmative.”

You’ll want to engage the services of a mobile internet marketing consultant to help you do mobile search engine optimization for your mobile website. It doesn’t matter if you have a .com or a .mobi website. If it can’t be found – you’re losing customers.

First, let me say that not every business needs mobile marketing. If you do not have an advertising budget that can handle experimentation losses from using a new technology you’re not familiar with, you do not need to be doing mobile marketing at this time.

On the other hand, if you engage the services of a mobile marketing expert who can help to mitigate any such potential losses, you should certainly consider using mobile marketing.

In addition, you should not consider using mobile marketing if your product or service focuses primarily on a target demographic that would not be using mobile phones.

There are many other business categories which can benefit greatly from mobile marketing and they include, but are not limited to:

•	Travel
•	Nonprofits
•	Sports
•	Legal
•	Food and beverage
•	Healthcare
•	Education
•	Consumer electronics
•	Apparel and accessories
•	Automotive
•	Arts and entertainment
•	Consumer packaged goods
•	Education
•	Financial Services
•	Government
•	Home furnishings
•	Media/publishing
•	Politics
•	Real estate

Imagine the benefits of offering coupons, recipes, surveys/feedback campaigns, fan clubs, loyalty clubs, movie times, ticket sales, class schedules, details of a property for sale, last minute travel deals, sales, store events, donation sites, emergency alerts, new publications by a favorite author or musician, health tips, carry-out or delivery ordering, theater locations.

Many businesses, however, do have products or services that are ideal candidates for marketing using mobile.

Retail, above and beyond, is the business category which benefits the most from mobile. Anyone with a retail business should definitely have a mobile friendly website and should take advantage of mobile advertising strategies or you’ll be behind the 8 ball.

The mobile marketing opportunities for a retail business are endless!

Clearly, the list can go on and on. You can modify many of the offline promotions you are already doing to make them work on mobile. You can also create and execute new promotions that do not work offline. There are no limits to using your creativity with mobile marketing!

It’s beyond the scope of this post to discuss in detail all the ways your business can market using mobile, but certainly Pronto Multimedia will be able to provide you with the mobile marketing platform and help you plan your marketing campaigns.

According to the Mobile Marketing Association, mobile marketing is “a set of practices that enable organizations to communicate and engage with their audience in an interactive and relevant manner through any mobile device or network.”

Kim Dushinski, a mobile marketing expert, enhances this description:
“Mobile marketing is businesses COMMUNICATING with consumers on their mobile phones with their explicit permission at the right time, at the right place while providing relevant value.”

The key to both of these definitions is that businesses are communicating with consumers – this is not a one-way message or a push marketing campaign. You are inviting consumers to initiate contact with you by calling or texting you (known as “opting-in”), giving you permission to communicate with them.

You, in return, will be providing something of value to them. This may be based on the knowledge you’ve acquired about your customers and that is the exciting aspect of this type of marketing. Customers have requested your response and that response will be received with anticipation, often resulting in action.

A Word of Caution: Mobile Marketing is a NO SPAM Zone!
You do NOT want to send unwanted messages to anyone!

Mobile marketing is using mobile devices as the method to distribute your marketing message.
It is just one tool in your arsenal of marketing strategies.
While mobile marketing is a very powerful tool, it should be used in addition to the other marketing techniques you’re already using.
You never want to count on just one marketing strategy to get your message out.

I received a call yesterday regarding our mobile platform and a nice gentleman asked me about the difference between usual text messaging platform and the platform Pronto Multimedia provides. Our platform is much more than text messaging platform and here below I will list all features and components that are included:

Text Messaging Promotions – Text messages enable instant communication over 90% of the population aged 13+ and according to official ratings, over 90% of text messages are opened and read within 15 minutes of delivery. Text is two-way: we use it to complete the registration process instead of using paper forms.

Brand with E-mail Marketing – Sending email directly through the Pronto MultiMedia Mobile platform is easy and it provides another opportunity to connect with your loyal customers. Our full-featured email marketing tool allows you to send branded newsletters, upcoming event notifications, and holiday greetings – the possibilities are endless!

Engage with Social Media – By engaging in social media, you can expand your marketing reach to friends and family of your most loyal customers, promote interaction between your business and its most loyal customers, build constant awareness of your social media presence, and reach your customers where they are – in social media! Our platform will automatically connect with customer’s friends on Facebook.

Cardless Loyalty Program – is a customer loyalty program that uses your customers’ mobile number as a replacement for plastic loyalty cards. Our platform communicates your customers’ program status after every visit, distributes rewards as customers reach milestones in your program, monitors email metrics and coupon redemption rates, and provides extensive reporting capabilities so you can adjust your program and set your own parameters to maximize results.

Location Based Mobile Marketing – creates offers that will be available to potential customers who are near your store and you’re able to grow your mobile marketing database and your business.

Coupon Redeemer – helps you track redemptions in real-time and helps protect you against multi-redemption fraud. It also gives you the opportunity to re-market to your new customers and increase your profits!

Text Messaging with Mobile Web Pages – in order to overcome 160 character limits to any text message, our platform gives you the opportunity to attach a mobile web page and give your customers and subscribers more detailed information about your offer or your event.

QR codes – QR (Quick Response) are codes that can be read quickly by a cell phone. They are used to take a piece of information from a media and put it in to your cell phone. Once it is in your cell phone, it may give you details about that business (allowing users to search for nearby locations), show you a URL which you can click to see a company info, or it may give you a coupon which you can use in a local outlet. The reason why they are more useful than a standard barcode is that they can store (and digitally present) much more data, including url links, geo coordinates, and text.

Short codes – It’s a unique number typically 4-6 digits long that is tied directly to your application (think about “text freepizza on 60997”). Short code will help you building your mobile marketing list of potential customers and will be integral part of your text based marketing campaign.

Recently I spent a lot of time developing different strategies that I will be using with some of my clients within restaurant and take-aways industry. This morning I spent few hours in the centre of Bury shooting a video and all I could see around were different kind of businesses that could benefit by implementing mobile marketing. Has it ever happened to you? Sometimes you work on something and that takes over everything else.

Anyway, have you ever considered communicating to your target market via mobile phone? Communication through mobile phones is the most relevant and interactive way of reaching your prospect or existing customer. These days you can make use of just about any mobile network and device out there.

The days when we used to go home, search for and purchase our favourite items using our home pc are gone. We are transforming into the new kind of consumer that can carry out all sorts of transactions while being in a taxi, on a train or in a restaurant. Last week whilst sitting in a coffee shop in Bury I bought two new tyres using my smart phone. Later I found out I also saved considerable amount of money as the price in local garage was much higher

I believe that in the foreseeable future we will see a massive increase in sales volume using mobile devices and the future of advertising is definitely going to be mobile phone promotion. -More and more local business owners in Bury are beginning to implement mobile marketing as a way to provide information to their customers.

I will tell you what makes me so excited when it comes to mobile marketing. It’s the accuracy and speed of showing the result of any mobile campaign.
I will give you an example. My client, in this example pizza place, decides that today would be a good day for a mobile campaign. At 4 pm the daily promotion is sent out and within hours the owner can tell exactly how many people came in and used his voucher, the exact revenue the campaign produced and the exact cost. Priceless. Compare this to sending someone to deliver 300 leaflets to the houses in the area. You need to print leaflets, you need to pay somebody to deliever them and you never know what your return on investment is.

Pronto Multimedia provides a complete mobile marketing solution to local restaurants, take-aways, pizzerias, fast food restaurants, hair and beauty salons or any other industry that could benefit from it.
Recently we have introduced our new powerful mobile e-commerce platform that is perfect fit for estate agents and retailers of any kind or size.

I would appreciate your comments below,
Thanks for reading,

“Frustration” – a word very often used to portray companies new to social media and those who have been involved in social media but have yet to enjoy a return.

There are two problems here…First, it takes time to establish a social media presence for your business. You have to be regular and consistent in your involvement with the social media medium and take into account that returns will not be overnight. Second, you have to make sure that you are using social media in a way that makes sense for your business.

If you are not sure, just ask yourself these simple questions:

Are you using the right platform?
There are few social media platforms for you to consider – most notably Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Further, within these platforms, there exist variations on the theme. For example, in Facebook, you can have a “Page,” a “Group,” or a “Community.” Each variation has its own set of tools, purposes, and capabilities. In addition, you may decide to participate in several social media platforms at the same time. For example, if you have a fitness center, you may want to use your YouTube channel to publish videos on how to perform certain exercises or tapings of classes you offer there while using Facebook to build a sense of community through candid photos, listings of hours, available classes, and upcoming events.

Have you scrapped past attempts?
However, you also need to remember that whatever you take on has to be maintained and updated regularly. This can take up valuable time and people resources. While it can certainly be worth it in the long run, remember that consistency is key. If you do not think you will be able to maintain various platforms (or you have already started and stopped using a platform) be sure to erase or delete those accounts. Otherwise, you stand the risk of eroding your brand value when a customer (current or potential) stumbles across your forgotten social media account. Instead, make sure that what you have is the best it can be.

Are you providing the type of information and interaction that your audience wants?
Ask yourself what it is that your audience would want to read, not what you want to tell them. Providing discounts or having giveaways can be useful, but you have to have more substance than that. Consider posting facts about your company, the brand, or its products. Think of the tidbits of information you encounter everyday that make you stop and say, “Really?” Examples include fun facts about how long you have been in business, what happens “behind the scenes”, why your business operates as it does (e.g. why Yoga class was cancelled on Tuesdays, why you do not serve poppyseed bagels, why you buy local, why legal documents are presented in blue card stock), etc.

Are you listening to your audience?
Likewise, are you listening to your audience? When they make a post, do you respond? Do you stay on top of when your company is mentioned on other sites, blogs, social media, etc., and make relevant comments to that affect (on that site and yours)? Remember that social media has developed because of the continued interaction it affords. Its purpose is not to simply broadcast, but rather give people a voice.

Do you allow them a voice?
Similarly, make sure that you give your audience a voice. Ask open-ended questions, run surveys and polls, include them in new product decisions, etc. – the more things like this you do, the more valued your audience will feel. Remember that interaction is a large part of a successful social media campaign. If miss out on this, you may already be out of the game.

Social Media can be a key part of growing your business and brand to attract local consumers.
Local Internet Marketing isn’t just about having a website, it includes being findable in multiple places when local consumers are looking for your product or service.

Here are some mobile marketing strategies that you can implement into your overall marketing plan.

When it comes to promoting and marketing your small business, have you ever considered having a mobile marketing campaign?
It might sound difficult but actually it is very easy to do and for sure it will be one of the most cost-effective types of marketing for you to put into action today. Having said that it could be also a complete waste of time and resources unless you decide to use it properly.

I have put together few pointers that any businesses can use and take their mobile marketing and advertising plans to another level:

1. Games or Polls

Games or polls (also called “Text-to-Win”) have become very popular with small business owners. Normally the type of prize get people to mail a message via their mobile phone to a designated SMS (Short Message Service) code. By doing this, the person gets into your contest or drawing for a chance to win a prize. Once they do, you now have their mobile phone number so that you can keep marketing to these people. Actually this is very nice way to build you customer list.

From the customer point of view, they get involved into discussion and entertainment and that is what they are loooking for. You keep growing your new customer database, customers are involved and entertained so all parties are happy.

There is another factor here that should not be ignored. Many people will bring new customers directly to your business so mobile marketing can be extremely powerful when it comes to generating word of mouth or news with regards to your business.
The prize does not have to be expensive one, it could be simply just an item that your customers will find useful.

2. Mobile Social Groups

Mobile phone clubs or text message groups are an easy way to establish client interaction along with developing your collaboration. Usually it is as easy as customers opting-in in order to get regular text notifications on their mobile phone regarding new products, in-store sales along with mobile coupon codes intended for in-store redemption.

If you’re a brick and mortar business, Mobile Clubs could be a fantastic way to stay in touch with all your purchasers and be sure everybody is simply up to date regarding what is going on in your company.

At the time you start a Mobile Club, you are able to include text message notifications (also called SMS Notifications), which in turn allow for you to engage with clients in order to keep your brand on top of their minds. SMS Notifications are usually fundamentally speedy textual content concerning for example a purchase you may well be having at the store, or maybe bursts of up-to-date information to maintain your opt-in list up to date for a unique topic of great interest.

This process will definitely continue to keep these people returning!

Give some thought to it… are there any aspects of your small business that could benefit from a simple and effective, real-time, conversation approach?

3. Text Polls and Voting

Do you need suggestions or perhaps ideas on your new product lines from your shoppers or maybe the general public on the whole? Textual content voting could possibly be your solution mainly because it means that you can engage with customers and find invaluable feedback on products and services or maybe the store experience.

The simplest way to supply customers what they want could be to ASK them what they really want. Mobile phone promotion makes it possible for you to complete this approach without difficulty by means of Text message Voting. Consumers use mobile phones virtually 24 hours 7 days per week thus marketing to all of them on their mobile device is actually not really difficult at all.

On top of that is the fact people like to provide their thoughts and supply recommendations on product or service which they pay for. By permitting these people to actually vote on particular components of your small business, you set about to generate a level of confidence with them that will take you a long way.

Then again text message voting helps to assemble your own list of clients since people that most likely are not at this time on your list are going to be incorporated when these people place their votes!

1. Difference between mobile and computer users

Mobile users are after common information and they are not interested to browse around your site, download pdf file and read it. They need information to be provided quickly and accurately so they search for it in a different way then they would do it when they are at home using their desktops or laptops. An effective mobile site would have minimal but essential information right on the front web page.

2. Knowing who your target audience is

One of the common mistakes is to treat your text marketing as a mass advertsing media rather than targeting correct folks. Mobile promotions will work only if text is transmitted to the targeted resource.

Therefore to be able to benefit from the best usage of mobile phone marketing, you should definitely carefully target your potential market.

3. Using SMS for hard sales tactics

Mobile is definitely a very good strategy to form a relationship with your customers, however, if all of your texts with them is hard-selling, then it is very unlikely that you will retain the majority of your subscribers. Avoid spamming you customers and provide them with some value rather than using buy-buy tactics otherwise you are risking turning your mobile marketing into real irritation and your time and effort may actually do more harm than good and potentially damage your brand.

4. Use mobile marketing with other advertising

Mobile promotion carry much more power when implemented as a part of a strong marketing program. If you happen to be developing website advertising, email marketing, video marketing or even social media marketing in addition to local promotions, mobile advertising could be exellent possibility for you to incorporate with all these types of marketing and strategies.

For instance, you can use short codes as part of your call to action during TV promotions, radio commercials, and also classified ads. Not only that, but you can easily also put your business’s QR (Quick Response Code) on your marketing and advertising material. Customers will be able to scan your QR code by using their mobile devices and get a hold of a voucher or some kind of discount coupon.

5. Creating two way communication approach

Majority of local business owners make use of mobile marketing as aa uninspiring and uninteresting one-way conversation method. Thats a big miscalculation! Mobile marketing shoudl be an effortless way for you to connect to people, build a relationship with them rather than “sell sell sell” to your potential customers.

Your current customers will certainly appreciate this a lot more as well and they will feel as if you happen to be creating a connection together with them. For example, you can ask your customers to participate with their own idea during your new product launch and they will become much more responsive to all of your text messages.

What does marketing actually means? I thought about how to best define it and I believe the following was the best I came up with: Marketing is a way of inciting interest and describing the advantages, benefits and unique features of the products or services presented by your company. However, when it comes to reaching the potential customer we are presented with serious issues.

Traditional marketing broadcasts the message to many potential consumers, but in reality that message will be applicable to very few. To become more centered on specific demographics is becoming more and more important.

Nowdays it is becoming easier to create marketing campaigns that target certain locations, such as advertising in a local paper, or to target a specific demographic, such as advertising your health center on a fitness website. However, it is still very difficult to reach consumers that will turn into customers, mainly because of the constraints posed by location.

The missing piece of jigsaw is called location-based marketing. Without it, most of your ad impressions are wasted on consumers who are outside your local area. Fortunately, in the last few years technology has advanced so much to allow geo-location marketing. Modern search engines, such as Google, Yahoo and Bing, enable consumers to find what they need based entirely on what is near them and smartphones allow marketers to obtain device-location data. More precise targeting brings bigger demand and better conversions. Listed below are some of the points that will make it work for you:

YOUR CAMPAIGN SHOULD BE TARGETED AS SPECIFICALLY AS POSSIBLE: Search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing allow you to target your marketing campaigns based on city, post codes, or even a specific street intersection. Basically make sure that your campaign is targeted specifically to the area you do business in.

This way, when you advertise your restaurant or garage, make sure that majority of consumers exposed to your campaign are within a range that would make sense for them to choose your restaurant or garage.

USE YOUR LOCATION TO YOUR ADVANTAGE: Focus on giving your consumers incentives at a hyper-local level. For example, you could provide a time-sensitive coupon to consumers within a few mile radius of your business.

TELL CONSUMERS WHERE YOUR COMPENY IS AND BE SPECIFIC: Make easy for consumers to find you, explain your location into details and provide them with a a map, directions and the ways (bus, walking, car) to arrive at your location.

PLAY UP THE NOVELTY: Location based marketing campaign gives you the possibility to use programs such as Facebook Locations to turn location into a game. Consumers can “check in” at your location, allowing you to provide interesting incentives for consumers to visit a specific location more frequently by offering status (e.g. mayor status, badges), points, or incentives based on the number of visits (e.g. free coffee on your tenth visit).

Local Internet Marketing is becoming a key part of growing your business and brand in order to attract local consumers. Local Internet Marketing isn’t just about having a website, it is about being findable in multiple places online when local consumers are looking for your product or service.

I am always interested what you think about local marketing and would appreciate your comments below.
